Oakview Homes builds new homes, custom homes and knockdown rebuilds across south-east Melbourne, on new estate lots and on established blocks. It is the part of Melbourne we are based in, and most of our recent homes are here.

What is building in South-East Melbourne like?
South-east Melbourne has two kinds of block. New estates keep opening on its growth corridors, where most lots come with design guidelines attached and a title date to plan around. Closer in, established streets have older homes on generous blocks, where a house near the end of its life can make way for a new one. We build on both, so the first question we ask is which kind of block you have.
Planning applications go to your local council; the building permit comes from a registered building surveyor.
What can Oakview build in South-East Melbourne?

Building on a new estate lot in the south-east?
- Building can only start once the lot has its title, so we plan the design and permits around the date.
- Most estates attach design guidelines to the land contract and approve the plans before the building permit.
- The soil test and survey set the slab design, and show any extra site costs before you sign.
- Fencing, driveway and front garden deadlines are often set by the estate after handover.

How do you start?
- Send us your lot plan or the address, and any design guidelines and the title date if it is a new lot.
- We show you which of our designs fits the block, or design one around it, and quote it.
- Once you sign, the design goes for any estate approval and then for the building permit.
- We build through base, frame, lock-up, fixing and completion, and hand over the keys.
